Good, but not for everyone
Gurteen 02.07.2019
These are good strings, even though my violin at the moment doesn't like them, but I don't blame that on the strings. It takes a while to get the right strings for a particular violin and my new violin just didn't sound good with them. (My old violin loved them). It's an expensive trial and error but finally settled on prim strings (bonus is they also are cheaper) so, yes.. very good strings.. but not for me at this time.

Good place to start
BrianOQR 19.03.2019
This are nice strings, easy to bow, for a reasonable price.

Not ideal for alternative tuning as it greatly reduces the life expectancy of the strings.

When learning or playing parts that I am not confident with, I prefer to use the strings as they create a reasonable sound even when you make small bowing mistakes

Entry level high-end srings.
Decimus 26.12.2023
I use these sgrings for almost 5 years now.
They are very good quality and they have a very good warm sound on my violin.
They need at about 3 to 4 days to be formated and set their tone on the instrument wich is good.
Real value for money strings!

I feel like It won't get better than this except for strings that are much higher in price. Absolutely recommend them!

Great all-rounder
BelfastGeorge 10.12.2020
Not sure if I can add anything new. These are probably the most widely used mid-quality violin strings available. Great choice if you don't want to break the bank.

Great for intermediates
Anonymous 06.01.2023
Having decided to play again after 30 years, I bought a first a cheap set of strings and was dismayed at how I sounded. Now playing again with these and everything is so much better! There’s now hope I can play properly again!

A way to go Strings
Lamberto Raymond Jr. 06.12.2019
Thomastik Dominant is a house hold name for string instruments all over the world.
Responsive, soft with fingers, easily adjust with tunings that makes your violin playing easy.
Quite sensitive with humidity, specially in the tropical country.
Pricey for students, but trusted brand by the professional.

Good strings apart from the E
Anonymous 03.05.2015
Dominants are deservedly one of the most popular makes of violin strings because they are of consistent quality. They do, however, suit some violins more than others and I have found that in particular the E string usually sounds harsh and has to be replaced.

Grand strings
RS-Ire 20.06.2021
These strings are fine if you have no specific tonal preference or want something in the middle.
They also have a good resonance and hardly need any tuning.

Great-sounding strings
Rosalyn 13.01.2018
These are great strings, which cut across all Violin ranges. From cheap to really expensive instruments, these strings will project your sound and last quite a bit in European climate but drop in colour rather drastically in the tropics (I'm in Africa and all my clients complain the colour/tone of the strings change after 6-8 months)
