im a beginner violinist and this is my first violin and i dont really have a teacher just a friend who i ask for help sometimes because im new to this she started learning violin at the age of 5 my friend is also the one who chose this one because the wood is better

good things: the violin is matte which i like very much and the sound is very nice thats what my friend said and you get the whole set so thats good for that price nothing is wrong with it yet and as i said good wood

bad things: almost every thing you get is made in china stuff the violin the shoulder rest the case. the bow you get is just a cheap bow so is the rosin

all together for a made in china thing is this very good for the price i know i have been saying that its very good remember how much you are paying it wound be a 1k sounding violin but for the price its quite decent

Update: this current version is not the same as when i bought it, they changed some wood

C
A very nice instrument
Christine1200 19.02.2014
I bought this instrument because I want to learn something about the Strings. I knew that i wouldn't take instrumental lessons so i only searched something with low costs.

I am very happy with this violon. You get a full set, a nice case and a good bow.
The quality is very good, it's a violon which doesn't shine high. The only bad thing is, when you want to tune it, you have to push the eddys hard because here you see the low cost. But without this little shortcomming you have a violon which has a very nice sound and which is perfect to learn it and to play it. So I would recomand it to others!

Great value for money

I am new to the violin and just wanted something cheap to see if it is for me, I did a lot of looking around before deciding on this model and so far I have been pretty impressed, I'm by no means an expert but if you are looking to buy this then I would assume that you aren't either.

FIrst impressions are good, as always a quick delivery to the UK and well packaged. The case feels quite robust, upon opening everything is held neatly. Upon the first inspection the violin appears to be well made and tunes up easily with no slippage on the pegs, the fine tuners work smoothly. The bow feels a little roughly made on the shaft, but the components you actually handle feel much nicer. Once tuned I was able to get a note that was pretty clear straight away. The finish is a little rough in places but not really noticable unless you really look hard, just a few runs in the paint (in places you cant really see), the matte finish is really nice and tactile - looks great too. It needed no additional setting up and the intonation seems to be good.

The accessories in the case are good, the rosin took a little while to get through the top layer but once past that was fine, the cleaning cloth and fluid seem nice enough. I'm not overly enamoured with the shoulder rest that it comes with, it feels a little cheap and I struggled to get it into a comfortable position, but that might just be me.

As a beginners instrument I would say that you really can't go too far wrong for this price - especially if like me its something you just want to try out and see how you get on. I got a nice sound out of it pretty quickly which is always a plus for something new! I would definitely recommend this to new players.

From good to excellent

To begin with I've been playing the violin for about 20 years, and I've owned a few violins and hav played with more. I ordered two of these, cause I thought it was a bargain, given that a friend of mine had already asked me to get him a good starting violin.

Now, the soundpost position varies (not really surprised) in these two violins. One of them was more than okay, a flawless student violin, with great playability and usability, with rich midtones, and only a liiiiiittle choking (in very high positions, which a starting-mid level student may not need to reach all the time).

BUT the other one is something I've never seen before. It would outperform every other factory/line producted instrument (of many price ranges). It could only be compared with handcrafted instruments (in terms of sound, response etc.) I would use it on a concert and I would consider upgrading only if I worked in a serious orchestra.

Given that, I suppose that an experienced luthier could upgrade the sound of the first one.

Decent Violin
Muziekmannetje 01.07.2018
The violin is very decent for the money you pay for it.

I had no previous experience playing the violin. I did a lot of desk research on how to play and even get a proper sound out of it. Youtube taught me a lot yet, the lack of a professional teacher got it stuck on the basics. The teacher was impressed when i told that i only paid 100 ¤ for it.. It was not the quality of a strad, but for the amount of money you get a very decent violin.

The finish on it is very good, even more, when you apply the oil to the body. It will get really shiny and looks like a class violin.

The sound, as my previous experience is none, can not be judged solely by my experience. I think the sound is good. The teacher could hear that the sound was not the sound of a high class but was impressed as well.

The bow is pretty sturdy and the it feels good in your hand and will give you a clear tone when playing.

The case that it comes in, is really well done! It looks classy and the violin can be transported in a sturdy casing.

The tuning nods are a bit odd for me as a guitarist, but when used to they keep the violin in tune as they should.

All these elements give you a great opportunity to finally get your hands on a violin for a low price!
Well done!

Good Student Violin
Anonymous 15.01.2016
I bought two of this for my 10 yrs old son; who plays Indian classical and European classical beginner to intermediate level.
We are highly impressed by the sound quality and performance. Specially the Indian classical teacher is impressed by the sound quality, as did we were. The rosin set may be better quality one than included one. We are using the one we bought on Amazon.
Unfortunately have to return one for small damage for replacement; otherwise it is very good quality student violin and excellent price as well.
Customer service is very good; I have bought a piano a year ago from Thomann and my son and my wife loves it as well.
