Good value but don't loop easily. Outer too grippy.
PA Boi 27.11.2022
These cables are built fine but the outer casing is rubbery and grippy. That doesn't help it loop evenly in a nice circle when wound.

Also there's something about the stiffness of the inner conductors or the shielding which makes the cable keep its shape too much. The shape of the loop in the picture is what you're stuck with.

It's hard to explain but other 10m XLR cables I have easily wind into a nice neat loop and hang in your gathering hand. They therefore lay easily in my cable box with the others. These do not. When you're winding them after a gig you're battling them to hang nice and freely as you loop them.

Also as you do the 'under' loop, the grippy surface fights you.

It's a shame because they're good value. If you're installing them and forgetting them then they're fine but not if you want an easy install and get out.

Price is equal to quality.

The price is equal to the quality, it is a table as low as the price. The cheapest aluminum connectors, the cheapest and softest wire.

OL
Gets stuck in sound interface
Ond?ej Lukášek 27.03.2021
I bought this cable with the SM57 bundle, because I'm a novice to recording.
The cable doesn't feel cheap or bad but a big problem I have with it is that it gets stuck in my sound interface (Focusrite Scarlett 2i2) and i have to help it out with a screwdriver. And it's because of a tiny hole on the XLR Female cable end.
So, in order to not mess up my interface I needed to buy new XLR Female cable end.
The length and quality seems fine though.

Had to re solder one myself
John L 21.11.2018
Bought two for my Active B115 Eurolive Speakers. One was dodgy within the first week and I found that the contact had come loose from a pin. Very bad soldering. Did a 5 min repair myself by re soldering the pin. Other cable was fine.

They're ok for tooooooootal amateur use.
Edgar Blackdagger 06.01.2021
A friend bought his first recording kit, including this cable.
It's ok, it lets signal through but nothing more :P

Cables are extremely important for your signal chain, don't be cheap about them, or your mic will end up sounding dull, thin and sibilant.

[My advice: make your own cables, soldering is very easy, the equipment cheap and soldering is a very important skill.]

If you don't want to make your own cables, you'll have to pay over 15€ for a 3m cable, I recommend Sommer and Cordial Cables and silver xlr pins (gold plated pins wear out very quickly and you end up with a zinc/random alloy contact).

It's an ok cable, don't get me wrong, but buying a proper cable will make your mic sound way more manageable and your recording life tremendously smoother and easier.

Absolutely fine for what it is.
Fires Over Broadway 22.07.2013
Got this as part of the SM58 package. Amazing value if you just want a cable to record your rough vocals with etc. Also can see it being useful as a cable to a mic on a stand. Works fine, and the audio is still clear.

The only thing instantly noticeable with regards to quality would be the connectors are not as solid as Neutrik. But then look at the price!

This is VERY good for the price, but I wouldn't recommend trying to record a commercial release with it, or using it live with an active frontman holding the mic.

Middle of the road leads.
Anonymous 11.03.2016
These were our go to leads when we started our band and were trying to keep costs down. They're very affordable and last a while if they are treated well. Over time the connections didn't really last but we're talking a year to 18 months here.

Pros: Very easy on the pocket, sound quality was good. they were good while they lasted for us.

Cons: Over time the connections went bad. They are a cheap lead and they have a limited lifespan.

Overall: These were great leads to start out with, especially if you are on a budget and are trying to keep costs down. Recommend for a starter lead but you'll need to spend a little more for a better quality, longer lasting lead.

Ok.

For cheap cables these are still working after 3 years.

Still I recommend to buy more expensive cables with better quality for live use on the road. or at least have some spares with you.

I have these at home studio remembering the low price I am happy.

Emergency cables
billyshears 06.04.2018
It's always a wise thing having more cables than we need. Every kind of cable. This cable is nothing like a high end cable, it would be good for non-professional use, rehearsals or small gigs. It doesn't feel like a pro cable, mostly because it's not. But in order to keep your cable supply always well provided, this could be a good buy. The price is ok, though it's not what I would call a bargain.
