I think I might move in to this
My word, it looks huge! It's funny how you can read dimensions on a website or in a catalogue - full, complete and accurate dimensions, and yet still be surprised by the size of something when it arrives. However I think I was right to get this one, because the Stairville SB-140 wouldn't have been quite big enough for one of my lights.
Like the smaller Stairville SB-140, the padding on this bag is a bit thinner than I would ideally like. It will offer more protection than a holdall from the high street, but I would prefer even more protection for my equipment than is offered by default. Having said that, I was imagining making foam inserts to go inside them anyway, so it doesn't really matter I suppose.
Unlike the Stairville SB-140 this bag does NOT have handles on the ends. That's a shame, because a bigger bag might be heavier and need to be carried between two people. Having said that, the bag might be long enough to fold up if you tried if the contents were flexible, so maybe that is why.
Note that the webbing straps that form the handles are a bit thinner than you might be expecting. I don't think there is a risk of them breaking, but they don't stand up under their own weight which would be a handy feature if you have to put the bag down to open a door or the car boot.

I have no idea how it happened, but despite having measured the size before ordering, once it arrived I was really surprised by how big it is. So I use it for storage instead of carrying my gear, since otherwise it's going to look like I'm being carried by the bag instead (and there's no way I'll be able to handle it comfortably once it's filled to the top either). But that's neither a pro or con. It's just BIG.
I do not like the way the longer carrying strap is attached, however. It makes no sense to me and is not comfortable in any way. You can't open or close the bag properly with it on - the only way I see it functioning is you should remove it while packing and only put it on to actually carry the bag. So I have never used the long strap - it just lives in the side pocket if the day arrives when it's needed.
All in all, a huge bag, nice quality, good for large pieces of equipment or storing all your gear.

AMAZING
Let me just say, sometimes its hard to find bags that fit certain musical/lighting gear into. These stairville bags are AMAZING.
I have now 3 of these bags in various sizes. Iv had one full of cables and various bits, iv filled them with over 20kg's worth of DJ scanner lights, and they really do HOLD UP TO THE PUNISHMENT!
The best part is these come in various sizes, so i lay my items out i want bags for, measure up, then just select the suitable bag for it.
Just overall amazing bags for an unbelievable low price. you will NOT get better than these.
They also com with a shoulder strap!

Solid and strong bag
I've been using this bag for 3 years now, mainly transporting some deco-lights in it (they are all still in their original foam+cardboard boxes. It's WAAAY lighter than dragging some rack cases and has worked just fine. I know, everybody keeps telling me that "it's not meant for this purpose" but let's be honest - it's been damn good for this purpose until now...

The bag is really big, so take a close look at the sizes. Quality and solidity is made. I use it to carry my cables and do a great job and collect a lot.

Nice big bag for my snow machine !
I'm a solo performer and like to make my Christmas shows special....
I bought this bag to transport my eurolite 6000 snow machine, to save it from bumps and scrapes in transit.
It's reasonably well made, but the padding is not so thick>
For this use it's ok, it did it's job at Christmas, so until next year it will sit in storage !
It's a bag ....it doesn't do much !

Fantastic quality...
I have to say this bag was not purchased for musical equipment, it is actually used to transport our Barclays premiership trophy to our photo events. The padding is great, the additional storage pocket is really useful and most importantly the Zips appear to be really heavy duty so that bodes well for the future. All in all another high quality product from thomann.
