A lifesaver on loud gigs
SB1 31.05.2013
I use a Soundback Adjustable 2.0 when playing with rock bands in a situation when I can't use my in-ear monitors. For normal function band gigs I use a clip-on microphone and IEMs, but this is a lifesaver when it's not practical to set up that much equipment.

The Soundback collapses down and fits easily into the mute bag of my Torpedo Classic, and slots over most commonly used dynamic microphones (SM58 style). The rubber collar ensures that it doesn't slip. The Soundback can be opened fully to provide maximum feedback to the player (and reduced sound to the audience, bandmates in front, and other mics), or (as pictured) left at various degrees of openness to allow more of the player's unmiced sound to reach the audience. I use mine fully open. This, combined with musicians' earplugs, allows me to protect my hearing but still hear enough of my sound to be able to play without overblowing. A surprisingly effective piece of kit.

CJ
Fantastic Solution For Monitoring In Loud Live Situation
Colin J. 10.06.2013
The Soundback Monitor works exactly as it is described, and better than I anticipated it would. The sound levels reflected back are crisp and clear and more effective than a floor monitor in a band where it is particularly loud on stage.

I have always struggled with using a wedge monitor on stage as even powerful expensive ones I've used can feed back easily. If you don't wish to use In ear monitors which are restrictive of the ambient sound, then the acoustic monitor is a really effective option for hearing your own sound, as well as that of the band.

The sound reflected is so powerful that it may need some careful placement to avoid disturbing others on stage.

The only negative is that it may not fit every Microphone shape- it is designed for dynamics which are usually conical, and I am using it with an AKG C 1000s (Condenser), but as the body of the mic doesn't fit through the centre of the soundback, I push it over the receiver end of the microphone and it works fine. There is no flexibility with the hole size so make sure it will fit your mic, and if it does I can thoroughly recommend it.

Essential piece of kit if you're playing in loud bands where you,re competing with electric guitars and drums . I couldn't imagine doing a gig without the soundback .

Awesome!

Simply a must if you have brass to mic up. Gives them a lot back so you don't have to over-use the wegdes. I wouldn't go to a gig with a brass section without the four of these I have in the cable trunk.
