It's a little loosy but does its job

This dead cat it's a bit loosy when inserted on the Tascam, but when on and if you pay attention and not stress too much the recorder, it must stay in place. The protection from wind is acceptable, it doesn't do miracles, but the difference between with the wind screen and without is there. Maybe a little pricey for what it does.

best option for your Tascam DR-100

Does what it says on the tin, wind screen that really works even under quite extreme conditions, works where other brands don't. Not the most sophisticated attach mechanism and comparatively expensive for what it is ,but it does work well and holds tightly to the recorder.

Windschutz auf kleinstem Raum

Rycote ist der Name für Mikrofon-Windschutz - entsprechend hoch war die Erwartung. Tatsächlich ist der kleine Wind Screen ein praktikabler Überzieher für den Tascam DR-100, obwohl dafür am Gerät eigentlich kein Platz ist. Rycote löst das mit einem Gummizug (es gibt auch eine Lösung mit Klettband - das aber dann am Gerät kleben muss).

Selbst mit halb verdecktem Regler lässt sich die Lautstärke noch einstellen. Da das Tascam gerne Griffgeräusche produziert, muss die Hand während der Aufnahme still halten, oder das Gerät auf dem Stativ stehen - mit Nachregeln ist da also sowieso nix. Und der Windschutz liefert - vor den durch die kleine Bauweise sehr empfindlichen Mikros - einen guten Ploppschutz gegen die kleine Brise.

Ohne Wind Screen geht draußen gar nichts - mit schon einiges.

Bei richtigem Wind muss natürlich das externe Mikro im Blimp her. Dass den ein kleiner "Wuschel" vor den eingebauten Mikros ersetzen könnte, habe ich auch nicht erwartet.
