H
Great Value.

First of all, I am originally an electric guitar player so this is my first violin. As far as sound goes, it makes the sound I'd expect from a beginners violin, take into consideration that I'm a beginner.

I am more than pleased with the package, everything you need is included, even two different cloths for polishing. Setup was already made by the staff at Thomann, the tuning was a breeze although it took a while for the strings to "settle".

Here's the only downside: The picture illustrating the violin is plain wrong! In reality, It doesn't have that dark wood burst, it just looks like an ordinary light wood violin. If it weren't for the fact that I expected a different finish, I'd rate it five stars.

A
Excellent "play it yourself" violin
Anonymous 07.01.2015
This Roth & Junius is a good bargain for learning to play. It's manufactured by HORA Reghin, which explains the good quality/price ratio, it comes with a light but sturdy case/backpack and the starter maintenance utensils.

The violin itself is beautiful and good quality. The finishes are not perfect - not all the joints are smooth, the initial string winding is not the "best" (just a bit of messing with them there and I'm problem free now), but the violin manages to stay in tune reasonably well and it is very easy to play.

I say this one stands out among the starter or "for education" violin deals around here, so definitely get it if you're in for looking into violin but you haven't figured out yet what you need.

T
Arrived broken
Trevmrgn 28.11.2018
The violin arrived broken, three of the fine tuning screws were loose in the case, the bow was tangled in the clip and had broken hair and no rosin was supplied. Thomann are trying to blame the courier even though the outer packaging and exterior of the case are undamaged.
