Bejesus holy smokes!
pubuss 23.09.2019
I mean why did I waited so many years to switch to Helix Floor!!!

I do abuse mostly cleans, sparkly Fenderish type tones and this thing does it better than I expected! It's not about the metal tones, I do not care how awesome they are. But the clean single coil things you can get out of this unit is mindboglinly good.

I can't say Helix + Headrush's 108 FRFR feels in hands and sounds to my ears anything but the same as a proper valve amp with 1x12 cab next to it. Can't feel the difference so many speak so loudly.
One thing though worth mentioning that Helix does all and weights nothing! That is always good for your back and for travel conveniance.

For those who are interested, Helix Native is nothing like Helix floor, the zero latency and matched input preamp of the floor unit completely changed the perception of Helix software to me.

Can't recommend this enough to anyone, absolutely game changer in my case. Easy to use, sounding outstandingly good, being reliable with perfect warranty service is a must nowadays!

The game changer
Tom from the block 02.07.2018
I've been real fan of all that pedalboard'n'amp stuff. But then i decided to buy Helix. And Helix changed everything.

I am lead vocalist and guitar player in cover band. We play well known songs in many different genres and styles. I was tired of buying expensive pedals. Some of them were on my pedalboard just for one song on gig. Then i made a hard decision... I bought Line6 to replace my pedalboard. I am really satisfied!

The main reason i bought this is amp modelling. There's no need to carry my tube amp on gigs anymore because amps on Helix sound even better. On Helix you will find everything you need. It takes a little time to go through all effects an test them. Each effect has many parameters to configure so you can get that perfect sound you are looking for.
Interface is so easy to use. Built my first preset in under 5 minutes.

Build quality is totally worth the price. Built like tank. Metal housing looks solid and gives you that Top class feeling.

By far there are no cons to write.

SH
Very good, waiting to get excellent
Sami H. 14.11.2015
Like many electronic devices these days, helix also runs on a software platform. Because it is very new, there's a whole lot of bugs and improvements to wait. Good thing is that line6 is working all the time and has already released a couple of updates.

If you want to get crazy with kahillion effects the helix will run out of dsp power quite fast - but for "reasonable" basic setups it delivers muchos buenos!

The unit as a whole is very versatile - works well for so many more things than only processing guitar sounds. If you're after everything helix could be used for, I can't see any competitors. For making only guitar-sounds I'd go for something else. I think the guitarcabinets on helix are a bit dark to my taste but that is fixed via IR-support. Just load in ownhammers for a bliss!

The UI is quite fantastic. Best I've seen so far. Very fast to learn and use.

Would I recommend Helix? Deffinately yes.

Helix. Great pro peice of kit!
griller 11.02.2018
I've only had my Helix for 3 days but have set up a couple of patches and done 3 live gigs.
So far, I am blown away.
I just go into the fx return to use the power amp section of my amp. I don't want or need to use the 4 cable method as the preamp doesn't offer anything that the Helix doesn't do better.
My needs are pretty basic. I use the volume on my guitar to go from clean to crunch to lead. I use reverb and switch on delay for solos. For specific songs, I use chorus or tremolo.
The amp models respond exactly as I need them to when using the volume on my guitar.
It took about 5 minutes to work out the user interface as it is extremely intuitive. Even when using live it's really easy and quick to make changes to any setting on the fly.
It sounds amazing through the Blug but I'm seriously considering getting a Line 6 L2t frfr to use instead.
For acoustic guitar players, the Helix is also outstanding! I have loaded some third-party IRs and can't put my acoustic down. be careful its addictive!
Looking forward to a long and fun time with this beast and for me, it is the most rewarding gear purchase I've ever made.

The Helix is unbelievable.
Juliusss 09.03.2021
The Helix is unbelievable.
This is hands down the best money I've spent on guitar equipment.
Sounds amazing, and has very flexible inputs/outputs.
The Helix has many options to built a good tone , it is complex and you have too keep that in mind when you buy one. Because it is complex you can easily build tones but to build good tones you might actually stick some time to it , to learn the way you properly use it but after you do , you get very good tones , especially for Modern metal genre.
The feature are way more then enough. The Quality is SOLID. you can rest assure nothing will brake easily , all you have to care about is the screen , but there are many screen protectors you can buy on the market. Compared to a Kemper , this is way better in my opion since you can manipulate the sound you want way much better.Line 6 also has a pretty active community and a site for sharing patches. The other day, I heard a song, and was pretty intrigued by the sound on the guitar. I watched a video of the band to see what he was using for an instrument (Les Paul) and then went to line 6’s site and searched for the song in the presets archive. Sure enough, grabbing the preset from the archive and plugging in my Les Paul, bam, I’ve got the sound.
This is 10/10 guitar processor, hope you enjoy it !

JUST NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING SOUNDWISE
Anonymous 09.03.2016
I tried this as an alternative to taking my KPA and remote unit out on gigs as a single-floor unit is what I am used to and would prefer, sadly it came nowhere close to the sound and more importantly the feel" of the Kemper, and is a large footprint when space is an issue (the remote is half the size)
lots of others will disagree but L6 sounds seem too harsh for my ears and my strings feel like fence-wire through them. Views expressed are personal and others will love it but for me the grail is waiting to be found.

J
i love the thing
Jannu198 21.09.2020
I have been using Helix Floor for a while. Now Im able to give some feedback. I love the how the only limit of sounds is your imagination. i have to admit that it will take some time to get good tones out of it but its because of its steep learning curve. im using my Helix with alot of external equipment and never had an issue, so Helix is also very flexible. The flexibility truely comes out with its signal routing system where every thing is possible. its amp modeling is good and i mean good enough to pick helix over Kemper but in order to achieve that you have to use your ears and pay attention to the sag, hum, bias and bias X in amp blocks. maybe watch a Youtube video about it or use your ears. i would like to point out that it works very well as an audio interface. i was able to achieve 3 ms delay with an low end laptop computer, so it works very good. I have not had a single issue with Helix that cannot be solved and that is the reason i love it

What can I say?!?! Wow
AaronP 08.02.2022
Took a chance and believed the hype. If you spend time with this, you can easily go out and gig it. No amp, no effects board just Helix. Also amazing in the studio to sculpt any sound you can imagine.

Versatile unit for home recordings
devy 11.05.2021
Works perfectly. I use it as home unit, has most of the things you might need as a up-and-coming guitarist/vocalist. Many effects to choose from

Biggest pros: many amps to choose from, apparently you only need headphones or simple cab the rest will give you Line6, surprising sound (you can adjust "mic settings" to make your own sound). Nice distortion effects and other stuff.

Flaws: looper is weak (one channel, small buffer) - if you need looper to practise it is fine, but if you need looper for wider usage you might need something more. Also the foot switch is kind of hard to use.

Excellent product
Anonymous 11.09.2016
I've never been partial to multi-fx units and always preferred individual pedals on a board. However when I first saw this unit I had to try it out and was not disappointed. This is so much more than an fx unit though, it's a proper modeller and controller unit. It's a little tricky to get used to, but only for about an hour, after which it's pure magic to use. If you do a lot of editing of presets then the free software makes that even easier.

The build quality is absolutely top notch, would have no reluctance to gig with this or travel with it. However it is very heavy. You could easily DI with it too if you had to with no compromise on sound. Perfect for studio also. still can't live without your stomp boxes, the Helix accommodates them very well, and can act as a commander for them and for MIDI gear.

Very few downsides, I did feel that the power cable was a tiny bit loose and I'd worry it'd yank out if you weren't careful. The expression pedal is good quality but I didn't like it with a couple of the wah models, but was ok with others. The looper is great but it's a shame you can keep the loops in memory for later use.

All in all, I would recommend the Helix, but it's not for everybody. It is probably worth the price, and worth it if you are in the studio a lot, but also a great gigging tool, either standalone or as a command centre for more complicated rigs.
