j
highly responsive mute with a distinctive tone

I love this mute. Firstly, it's very light and easy to blow air through. It wasn't a struggle to get used to it. The sound is slightly on the bright side. The tone is a modern touch to the classic bubble mute sound. You can adjust the stem to get a "fixed wah position" to your liking. With them stem out it just sounds great. It responds evenly to every note in regards the tone.
Blowing the higher and the lower notes with this mute might need some adjusting. I've been using it semi-regularly for over three years now and the cork is still fine.

Very open-blow mute. Easy to play and with a lovely characteristic sound.
It doesn't sound exactly like the original harmon mute, but it's truly close and after all the recognition Jo-Ral enjoy for it's products, it's become recognisable too..
Great product!

p.s.: I own the Denis Wick wah-wah mute. Higher resistance and more narrow sound for my taste..

Excellent Mute

This is one of my favourite mutes, it has a really nice tone both with the stem in and out. I often use it as a practice mute due to its nice free blowing nature and it's good intonation across the range. I went for this over the copper version mostly because of the weight, I don't like playing with heavy mutes.
