An amp no one needs

23.05.2016
I'll tell you a little story about my negative product rating as I annoy myself every time when bad reviews consist only of stars. Nobody can imagine that.

In the past, I already had some Fender amps. Including a Blues Junior 3 with mahogany casing and a Supersonic. The former I had despite breathtaking optics because of lack of quality not retained (eg wiggly input bushes with PLASTIK !!). Second went back due to massive ground noise and useless volume control (from 0 immediately on loud). The crazy 60, 85 and more Fender Amps packed with watts I have only tested in the store and they are so exaggerated loud that you have to live next to a concert stage in order to be able to play this clever.

FORWARD big praise again to Thomann, for the fast shipping and the uncomplicated handling!

Mexico still does not stand for excellent quality at a small price. In test reports this is shown differently and also this BB45 with the top score. On the forums you can not give nowadays any more, since you there with "I believe have heard, read and a buddy meant but never in the hand" knowledge is over-heaped and those who are runterbuttert, which have equipment, what 1000 Euro plus costs. Envy and misery.

The Bassbreaker 45 Combo has the same Macke as a cheap Bugera V22, which I sounded at the time but not bad. It rattles both the hardware and the circus. This is not at 1009 euros. Furthermore the 45er is much too loud despite regulation on 1W. Even the volumes of the two channels I can not rotate higher than 1 without the need for recording and smaller rounds hearing protection. Whoever already has a disturbed hearing from too loud playing, which will probably not disturb.
My AC30H2 I could play without power reduction quieter and had full sound. So sitting in front of the amp is not possible with upturned guitar volume at 1W. Coming into the game you have to turn the mix level of the pedal far down, but can not then switch back to the cleansound.

I have promised myself a lot of the performance reduction, but it is simply not to use. A Marshall SL-5C is reduced to 1 Watt, the more comfortable to bear and fine adjust in the output.

Workmanship outside is as far as good and the dust cover is, you take with you gladly. I did not use it, because I already packed the amp on the day of the receipt. The general appearance is oriented to the Fender Bassamps (especially the logo) and it looks simple but also not high-quality. The design is neither modern nor retro. Since the Excelsior has me a lot better. You know, the Amp does not know what he wants.

Sound is this model rather average despite the price for many musicians. With the 2 EL34 (is not correct in the description) instead of the EL84 in the Bassbreaker siblings, the amp is audibly audible to Marshall and does not stand him personally at all.
The V-Type Celestions are also rather moderate when you are accustomed to Alnico Blue.
The amp just stops loud and sounds anything but nice. In the middle hard it might meet. Rotten, as Fender describes it, with this model only with volume on the stage.

Again, the proof, Youtube videos bring nothing in the amp selection. What is after all worked, one can only guess. Even playing with your own guitar is indispensable.

Clean is the BB45 ok, but synonymous since still too loud, if one would doodle on 1W. If you look at youtube salespeople who would like to present this amp on 45W without hearing protection and want to convey the naive viewer, you would be something for the bedroom. This is the BB45 definitely not and also nothing for rented apartments. This fortunately does not affect me, but it could save some from a bad sale. Should yes people give themselves a 100W JVM with 2x12er box in the 3-Zimmer-Butze and have to play 0.001 volume, so that the neighbor only after 15 minutes at the door rings. The friends are still impressed, which stands for a fat thing at home.

Please think seriously about how much tube watt you really need.

Until this amp without pedals dragged you have to stand in the kitchen and operate the amp in the basement. The noise at this volume quite apart.

For me it was now with Fender Amps, at least the Mexico things. This still does not work and unfortunately the whole BB concept is broken. The idea I found excellent, therefore also ordered. But a protective cover comforts me there not over it, that the Powersoak quasi not to be used and already with small volume the tube suspensions etc. rattle.

The BB45 was played with a Gibson ES-335 and Xotic BB Preamp.

I would not like to evaluate here badly bad, but with this criticism a useful help with the amp selection.

It simply gives the impression that new models with stuck-up features from other series are to be pushed into the market in order to be able to present something new every year, instead of reviving old-tried and hand-wired. Too bad.

It is pissed up many times, but apparently one can expect nowadays from niche manufacturers nothing high-quality.

CONCLUSION: An amp, which does not know what it really wants to be and which no one needs. Anyone who wants EL34 will be able to access a real Marshall!

Wonderful amplifier with high sound quality

Musiker65, 20.12.2017
With this amplifier you have your sounds on the volume control of the guitar and of course in the fingers. He reacts very sensitive to the strength of attack and playing style. The concept goes back to the beginning and aims without question also at the sound of this time. If you are looking for a full, rich clean sound up to the sound of a nice power amp distortion, then I think it's in good hands. The amplifier is the most powerful variant of the product line and in Normafall probably not suitable for the living room, but for the rehearsal room and the stage. The output control determines the timing of the power amp saturation and of course makes it quieter. But not up to the volume. Those who are enthusiastic about the Marshalls and Fender amps of the first hour should definitely check out the Bassbreaker 45.
