Best Overdrive Pedal
I plugged this pedal in with the controls set flat, immediately i was blown away by the distorted tone available to me. The grunt and mid Boost Switches add bottom end and mids back into the tone, the Tone knob changes the character of the distortion, likely by affecting the treble.
The blend knob does exactly what it says, blends your dry tone with the distorted signal.
The Footswitch is one of the new "non-click" types and is very smooth and sturdy. The chassis is also made from very thick yet light Aluminium.
My only issue (and its a very very small one) with this pedal is the location of the 9V DC In, on the bottom right, next to the instrument in, its a little awkward.
Overall this is a great pedal and despite the price I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, you can get a wide variety of overdriven and distorted tones and this pedal has allowed me to achieve the sound I've always wanted my bass to sound like.

Try before you buy it!
I am reviewing the second unit I received since the first one was faulty, which I did not expect considering the reputation of the maker but anyway.......The B3K's sound is very distinct compared to anything else you might have heard. Also, its sound depends A LOT on the rest of your pedal path/instrument/pickup type/string type and how new they are/amplifier/pick,hand technique etc. That is the case with most pedals but the B3K takes it to a whole new level. Search for youtube videos to see what I mean. Considering this, you might love it or hate it so definately try it with as much of your gear as possible unless you got money to burn. I sold it to another guy, who apparently loved it......so try it before you buy it! You have been warned three times. Cheers!

"That" driven bass sound
Really nice sounding and excellent construction quality, maybe a little expensive but money worth the deal. Definitely not a distortion pedal at all, it goes from little dirt to hard driven, but pretty far from fuzzy sounds.

This is just great
Great for any bass player. Not only the drive sounds great on its own, not only the blend knob allows you to play around with your clean signal, you can use it to dial up just a bit of grit and enhance your bass tone without distorting it. Especially great with Darkglass Harmonic booster before it

Great product, a little expensive
Good quality and the typical Microtubes sound, great for live and studio recording. The blend knob allows you no to lose low frequencys. The sound is modern but versatile. Just a little too pricy, it would have been nice if it was also a preamp.

Absolutely amazing pedal
This is the overdrive sound i always wanted. Everything from a little hint of grit to face melting distortion. It has completely changed my sound and how i sit in a mix. It's an absolute must for any rock or metal bassist. It is a very well made pedal too. The only issue i have, which isn't really an issue, is the location of the power jack is kind of awkward.

Awesome Product
Quite possibly my favorite pedal I've owned. I recommend this to any bassist wanting a heavier tone in a band mix.

The best bass drive pedal
For me, Darkglass B3K is very versatile. The tone knob helps cut through any mix. I love the texture and no bass loss. I tried a lot of different pedals, but every time returned to Darkglass
