Does what it's supposed to
If you want to connect anything via usb or use a class compliant interface there isn't much choice; this is it!
I tried a cheap generic usb adapter for the ipad which had patchy performance particularly with midi, it would work for a short period then just stop without warning. So I bit the bullet and purchased the official apple kit which is much more reliable (and should be considering the price), This will also charge your ipad during use, which is definitely a good thing.

Useful adapter
I use this mostly to connect a small USB MIDI controller keyboard to an ipad. The ipad cannot provide sufficient power to the controller, and this is why the adapter is needed. This is a useful tool and usage is simple.

Works well!
I got this, to connect my synthesiser to my iPad and it’s software. It works really well. I have bought ‘copies’ of such things and had to return them to the big online retailer, that is named after a river. This works well, as it should, being Apple. My only criticism is that, given that they are so expensive, they could just make the cable a bit longer, so as not to put strain on the connector. It’s a bit like paying £30 for a guitar cable that turns out to be 1 metre long. Good quality, though and it does the job.

Lightning to usb adapter
You need this if you are using an ipad or iphone for music making. It’s expensive in my opinion. Knock off units don’t work properly.

GarageBand
I can connect my Audio Technica AT2020 USB mic to my iPhone SE without even using the charger cable to charge. Chargeability although is a great option. Great way to use GarageBand.

Works a treat
If you want to connect a USB interface or midi controller to an iPad/iPhone with a lightning port, this is your guy. You will also need to plug a separate lightning cable into power since the iPad/iPhone won’t be able to power an external device (like, say, a laptop might), but this also means your iPad/iPhone can charge while you use it.
I’ve used this with several USB class compliant devices & works great. Even a 12 track USB mixer feeding separate channels in & out of AUM on the iPad.

As expected
Works great, as expected. Now I can use my digital piano with the iPad, either in GarageBand or with Casio's piano app.

Best thing if ur divice on ios 13
On ios 13 this adapter works cool. U can connect almost all usb devices, so I conneted my usb audio interface and Novation Launchkey Mini MK3 to iphone 6s. That may work with usb hub but I not tested this yet.

Does what it should, but shamelessly overpriced
I've needed the adapter to be able to connect various equipment with the iPad. It does what it says on the box, I've been using it on and off for more than a year without problems, but as with all Apple products it is shamelessly overpriced.
