Bought a pair of these to use as general work horse mics in my small studio. They are great and so far cannot be faulted. Great quality, nice weight and a manageable size.

I couldn't justify spending close to £1000 on C414's so the C3000 won it for me.

These are primarily being used as drum OH and room mics, but have heard great things when used in other circumstances. The pad and bass reduction switch really come in handy (the pad more so) and mean the mic can be used almost everywhere.

Comes with the cradle which is reliable and works well, its also light so even the weakest mic stand can handle the weight.

Only disappointing thing is there is no flight case included anymore. How ever I did find a few second hand C3000 flight cases on an auction website so win win.

Overall a great quality mic for a great price, Bargain!

LJ
A good mic for the price
Lowend Jim 20.02.2020
I bought it 8 years ago for recording mostly vocals and secondarily acoustic guitar in my home studio. I should state though, that back then the mic was sold with it's case, wich is sturdy and handy and stil working perfectly.
As far as the mic is concerned, it sounds fine for demo and preproduction purposes and is in mint shape after all these years. The -10dB pad is very convenient when recording loud sources. The shock mount, although it feels a bit cheap, does the job flawessly and remains unbroken and fully functional.
pros:
-Good sound for the price
-Sturdy and reliable construction
- The -10dB pad gives flexibility
cons:
-The case is not any more included.

AKG C3000

I use the C3000 mainly for home studio recording, to mic up guitar amps, & have used it occasionally for vocals. I have also used it a couple of times at live gigs as an instrument mic.
i have had good results in each of these scenarios, but i find it has been more effective as a guitar mic (i have other mics that are better suited for vocals)

Features:
the C3000 is a large condenser mic, with a gold sputtered 1" diaphragm.
it has a -10db attenuation switch for use in close miking, allowing you to record music with high sound pressure levels (up to 150db)
it also has a low cut filter switch which eliminates proximity effect.
it comes with a nicely designed shock mount, & a hard case

pros:
(check features above)

cons:
the only thing i can think of is that it has gone up in price since i bought it

all in all, it is a great little mic, good quality sound, sturdy build & good value for money

ID
great surprise
Ioannis D. 30.10.2014
I was first desapointed when i saw that the mic has not a case like the other c3000 that i had bought many years ago...Then i was again desapointed when i saw that this is a china made one. My previous c3000 was made in Austria, but costed almost double...Then i tested it with some acoustic guitar recordings and i was amazed! This china made c3000 is much more louder and brighter than my Austrian one! Great deal for the money it costs!!!
